Green Growth Knowledge Partnership: Setting sights on COP27

The largest climate change conference of the year is only a few weeks away. Governments, civil society and industry will come together in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, for the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP27) on 6-18 November to exchange ideas, raise ambition and accelerate implementation of global climate action. In collaboration with partners from across the world, GGKP is co-organizing two official side events. Green Industry Platform:
I-GO in Africa – Nigerian and Ugandan SMEs on board for resource efficiency

In parallel to the upcoming global summits on climate change and biodiversity, I-GO initiative for SME resource efficiency is as focused as ever on making change on the ground, including in the Africa region. In collaboration with the Uganda Parliamentary Alliance on Food and Nutrition Security (UPA-FNS) and Circular Lagos, African SMEs were able to learn how to use the I-GO Assistant to self-assess their resource efficiency status, then subsequently access customized knowledge, training and financing solutions. Full steam ahead for nature action

As 2022 comes to a close, two pivotal global conferences – UNFCCC COP27 and CBD COP15 – will set the course for future action on climate change and biodiversity loss. Aligning finance with sustainable development through national roadmaps

Under the Global Environment Facility-funded Aligning Finance Policies project, six sustainable finance roadmaps in China, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Mongolia and Nigeria have been developed and endorsed with a unique focus tailored to the country’s financial system priorities and needs. The Green Finance Platform is contributing to building the sustainable financial architecture for sustainable economic transitions with the Sustainable Finance Diagnostic Toolkit, Green Finance Measures Database and Global Resource Library.
